Anima

Anima: Russian Thoroughbred, dark bay gelding, 1.68m, date of birth and pedigree unknown.

Anima, what a soul. This cribbing elderly gentleman was nothing but skin and bones when he came to me from a neighboring barn. He was doing so very poorly at that other barn that I just hat to ask a friend to buy him, bring him over to my barn and let me retrain him (see vertical photo on left).

Our strategy was to first bulk him up with feed, then bulk him up with muscles and to bring joy back into his life.

Unfortunately, his new owner was not able to afford keeping Anima and I bought him from her and returned all the fees, including board, training, and feed, that she had incurred while she had him.

When riding, Anima was very willing and heartbreakingly humble but after a while he turned self confident and happy (see horizontal photo on right).

Sadly, I lost this wonderful and happy horse to a very serious colic. I hope with all my heart that you are happy where you are now, my dear courageous warrior.
